A moment.....

I just wanted to take a moment and thank God for my family and friends. Most of all, thank Him for giving me a happy, healthy baby boy. I have heard and know so many people who have lost their children lately and who have children who are fighting for their lives. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a healthy child and pray that he continues to bless my family. I am also humbled and ashamed that I would even complain about my life or everyday little things that mean so little in the big scheme of things. When we were at Children's Hospital last week I saw a few sick children with all types of tubes and IV's. I thought to myself at that moment....."how do these parents do this"? They have strength beyond anything I could imagine. I was humbled and heart broken all at once. I knew at that moment that God had blessed me beyond what I deserved and He could take it away at any moment.

God works through all situations and I am thankful today that He has opened my eyes to that. Thank you Jesus for loving me,my family, my friends, and most of all my sweet little boy, Jameson.

The Verdict

We had a good doctor's visit the other day. The doctor said he "believed" it was childhood asthma. Boooo.... It is not as bad as it sounds. Jameson will supposedly grow out of it by his first or second birthday. They didn't do any tests, which I was worried the most about, because he didn't have any symptoms at the time. They did a chest x-ray, but Jameson was a big boy and got a sticker for being so good. The doctor said that one of his tubes going into his lungs was enlarged which is a classic symptom of asthma. The good news is that he didn't give us anymore meds and actually told us to take him off of his medications in about 2 months. If he continues to have symptoms after we stop the meds, then we have to go back. So, we are just praying that our sweet boy will stay healthy and not have anymore symptoms.

Everyone at the doctors office just loved him. He smiled and waved at everyone he saw and they just loved his big blue eyes. He is so cute and is developing his little personality now. He loves going places and loves to smile at everyone. His little wave is the cutest thing I have ever seen. He has also started saying, "uh oh". It doesn't matter what he is doing, he says it. We have also been sleeping much better which is a huge relief for me. I am not quite as exhausted anymore. However, I know this could make a turn for the worst at any moment so I am just thankful for each night he sleeps. Thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts.

Here is a picture of my stinker crawling into the dishwasher. He loves to sit in it while I unload the dishes. I usually have to do the dishes while he naps or this is what happens.

One more thing, I have the new "followers" icon on the blog. If you follow my blog I would love to see you up there. Please join. I am curious to know who all reads my random craziness of a blog.

Pulmonary Specialist.......ugh

Well, tomorrow we go to Children's to visit the pulmonary specialist. I am dreading it so much. I just don't want to watch them put my sweet baby through all that poking and whatever they are going to do. I really hope it doesn't traumatize him....or me. I think all is well considering he isn't wheezing or coughing anymore and has started sleeping through the night pretty much. I think it was acid reflux the whole time, but I guess we will know for sure tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers and I will update you on our trip as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will leave you with this cute little picture. I don't know why I think it is so cute, but he was trying so hard to reach those cords (which are tied up now). I can't believe how big my precious baby is getting.

Mother's Day Fun and Check-up

I had a great first mother's day! Jameson and Rusty got me a gift certificate to get a pedicure and manicure and a sweet card. We had a fun filled, yet relaxed Sunday. I love being a mom and it was very special that I got to celebrate it this year. We did a lot of visiting with our moms too. Me and Rusty have the two greatest moms in the world and we know it too. They are so good to us and it was good that we got to share mothers day with them. I started doing this post and realized that I didn't even take a picture of me and Jameson on Mother's Day. Shame on me.....Shame on Russ......Shame on both of us.

On Monday I took Jameson for his 9 month check up. He was a trooper. He has started waving at people and it is the cutest thing ever. When the pediatrician walked into the room he stuck his arm up (his wave) and smiled at him. The doctor said, "he doesn't have stranger anxiety at all does he". "That is very good that he smiled at me". It made me proud. I was afraid that Jameson would have stranger anxiety, but he loves everyone and will go to anyone. I am glad because I don't want him to be shy. Anyway.....he weighed 20 lbs. 5 oz. and was 28 1/2 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and 60th for height. So.....he is perfect just as I suspected. He is doing much better with his wheezing, but we are still scheduled to see the specialist on the 21st. Keep us in your prayers. I am dreading the day and hope they don't have to do much poking or proding. Sorry I don't have any cute picutures, but there will be more to come.

9 months

Well, my little man turned 9 months old this past Tuesday and I can't believe it. He is getting so big and can do so much now. I love to see him learn new things. When you try to teach him something you can see those little wheels turning in his head. I love to watch him try to figure out things. He is into so much now and I constantly have to watch him. He is so active. He is still babbling, but has added more sounds to his language. He has started waving and pointing at things with his hand straight up in the air. He has really started noticing lights. When we walk into a room he will throw that arm up and look up. He is the cutest child I have ever seen and I love him so much. It still hasn't sunk in with me that I am really his mom.....it still seems so weird to me that I have a child who depends on me for everything. I love it! I think Rusty and I have done a good job so far considering we had no idea what we were doing when he was born. Rusty is a great father and loves his little man so much. He totes him around everywhere he goes. I am so thankful that I am married to a man who loves his family and wants to be involved with his child. That is so rare these days.

Jameson goes for his 9 month check up next week, so I will update you on all of his stats next week. He is a growing boy and I know he will be all grown up before I know it. Until then I will continue to cherish every moment he reaches his little arms up for me and gives me lovin'.

Here is a really cute picture of how big he is getting. Rusty bought him a walker/car last week and he loves to walk behind it and push it. So, last night I put it in car mode and pushed him around the house on it. He thought it was so fun.

5 years ago.......May 1

I married my best friend! Rusty and I just celebrated 5 wonderful years of marriage. We have been together for 12 years, but married 5. We started "dating" in the 9th grade and have been going strong since then. God made us for each other and I am so glad that we became best friends at such an early age. These past five years have been the greatest of my life and I couldn't imagine them any different.

Russ, you are my best friend and I love you so much. Thank you for being a great husband and father. Thank you for being the Godly man you are and keeping me on track to be the wife and mother I need to be. You are amazing! Thank you for picking me and making me so happy. I love you!

Callaway Gardens

My sweet husband took me to Callaway Gardens for our 5 year anniversary last weekend. It was our first night away from Jameson, but it was a much needed vacation. We left on Friday and came home on Saturday. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was sunny and warm and the gardens were beautiful. I had a great time spending time with my wonderful hubbie. It was nice to focus all my attention on him. Thanks baby for scheduling the trip!

Jameson spent the night with my mom and was a good boy for the most part. My only concern was his sleeping through the night. The reason I was concerned is because, as many of you know, he does not like to sleep all night long. He is 9 months old and rarely sleeps until 4:30 am. He will not sleep past 4:30 am without at least waking up one time. So, I prayed, but God wanted things another way. I called my sweet mother the next morning around 7:00 and asked how he did. She very nicely said, he slept until 2:30 am. I said, and when did he go back to sleep? She said, still very nicely, he hasn't been back to sleep. Yes, you are reading right. He woke up at 2:30 and did not go back to sleep. My mom and dad were up from 2:30 that morning until we picked him up that afternoon. So, he showed out a little, but was good the rest of the time, so I am told. :)

Here are some pictures from the gardens. Most of them are from the Butterfly Center.
